Breakout leads/boxes

This breakout lead kit lets you take voltage readings from the multipin sensors and actuators in the engine compartment. Simply connect the appropriate breakout lead into the existing cable loom, and then take the output signal from the 4 mm banana plugs into the automotive oscilloscope using one of the TA125 to TA128 premium test leads.

The breakout leads give access to the individual wires to allow probing with current clamps.

The following 5 breakout leads are supplied as part of the kit:

  • TA190: 2-pin ACS breakout lead
  • TA191: 3-pin Kostal breakout lead
  • TA192: 2-pin Deutsch breakout lead
  • TA193: 4-pin Deutsch breakout lead
  • TA194: 2-pin Kostal breakout lead

These connector breakout leads enable voltage readings to be taken from the numerous sensors and actuators in the engine compartment. The required connector breakout lead is simply connected into the existing cable loom, and the output signal can then be taken from the 4 mm banana plugs into the automotive oscilloscope using TA125 to TA128 premium test leads. The breakout cable has been designed with separate access to the individual wires to allow probing with current clamps. As an example this allows both injector current and injector voltage to be captured.

The breakout cable gives access to the individual wires to allow probing with current clamps. For example, this allows both injector current and injector voltage to be captured.
