The TA008 is a back-pinning probe

First and foremost the TA008 is a back-pinning probe. In fact, it’s the smallest diameter back-pinning probe that we know of. This is essential for probing today’s small, fragile connectors. It is also very sharp, so it slides past connector seals with ease. This product solves most of the problems associated with traditional back-pinning methods.

The TA008 is a piercing probe

Secondly, the TA008 is a piercing probe. Its small diameter, extra sharp pin makes it ideal for piercing the insulation on small gauge wires where traditional piercing tools might cause damage.

The TA008 is field-repairable

And finally, here’s the best part. Don’t you just hate it when you are using a back-pinning probe and it bends or breaks? Before the TA008 came along, this meant that you had to buy a whole new back-probe. Not with the TA008; it’s repairable. If the pin becomes damaged or useless in any way, simply take your pocket screwdriver, remove the set screw, pull out the old pin and install the new one! There’s no need to replace the whole probe.

  • 7 complete back-pinning probes
  • 3 screws
  • Replacement needles

The multimeter probes offer a quick and easy solution, where a permanent connection is not required. The 4 mm socket in the handle of the probe connects straight into one of our premium test leads.

  • Length: 115 mm
  • Diameter: 20 mm

Like the probes in the TA008, these probes are designed for back-probing under the insulation of multi-plug terminals. The TA161 and TA162 have a flexible section that bends to improve access to difficult areas. Each probe fits onto the 4 mm plug of our BNC to 4 mm test leads. Note that, unlike the probes in the TA008, the probe tips are not replaceable.

The crocodile clips are fully insulated with a 4 mm socket in the handle, offering an easy connection to one of our premium test leads. The toothed grip offers good contact on fine wire, with a 30 mm jaw opening limit.

  • Length: 92 mm
  • Height: 37.5 mm
  • Depth: 15.3 mm
  • Clamping limit: 30 mm

The crocodile clips are fully insulated with a 4 mm socket in the handle, offering an easy connection to one of our premium test leads. The toothed grip offers good contact on fine wire, with a 11 mm jaw opening limit.

  • Length: 57 mm
  • Height: 19 mm
  • Depth: 7 mm
  • Clamping limit: 7 mm

These plier-type clips are designed for connection to the vehicle battery terminals and fit all our BNC-to-4 mm test leads.

The TA007 Insulation Piercing Test Clip set is ideally suited for automotive test and diagnosis. The piercing clips allow the user to provide the exact pressure needed to pierce the insulation of a wide range of wire types and sizes. The clips also feature a rotating banana jack that prevents the test lead from twisting and keeps the oscilloscope in the circuit while the wire is pierced, providing immediate confirmation that contact with the conductor has been made.

Supplied as a set of 2, one red and one black.

These probes feature a shrouded 4 mm socket and allow you to hook your test lead onto small components. The hook can hold conductors up to 2 mm in diameter.

  • Length: 121 mm
  • Height: 23 mm
  • Rating: 1000 volts CAT III 20 amps

These 4 mm shrouded to unshrouded adaptors allow our standard and premium test leads to be connected to any breakout box with unshrouded 4 mm sockets.

The BNC to 4 mm adapter connects two 4 mm (“banana”) plugs to a BNC socket. If you have a sensor such as a current clamp with 4 mm plug outputs, for example, this adapter allows you to plug it into a PicoScope Automotive Oscilloscope with a BNC input. The 4 mm sockets and BNC plug are fully shrouded for safety.

  • Length: 63 mm
  • Height: 18.5 mm
  • Width: 34 mm
